Cars

This film was a complete 180 from everything else that we have watched yet it addressed some very interesting topics and themes. It was weird that this was my first actual time seeing the movie and seeing the animation especially from this time was amazing. I think overall it still holds up well as Pixar's top films! Can't forget about the soundtrack, the songs did a really good job to draw out the emotion and setting the tone of what was happening on the screen

We start with our main character Lightning McQueen who is a rookie racecar who is completely full of himself with one goal in mind. During the race to earn the Piston Cup Lightning manages to end up in a 3 way tie. In order to settle the tie, there was going to be a tiebreaker race in California. Lightning being so eager to be the first one in every aspect, he pushes Max - his transportation- to go in one trip. This resulted in him falling asleep and Lightning getting separated eventually landing himself in Radiator Springs. The rest of the film is Lightning trying to leave by because of several obstacles having to stay in the town and learning from the people who live there. To the point he has learned how to put people before himself and really reflect on those feelings. The film end with him finally at the big race he's been dreaming about with the support of all the friends he's made along the way

The film uses the medium of cars to tell us a story about people in a way. It's addressing the mentality that a lot of us when we think we are better than other people because of things such as appearance or background. This is shown with rusty cars being the "poor" people that Lightning is disgusted to be around until he meets Mater. This is also shown how Lighting did not really respect Doc until he found out that he used to be a racecar. Things like these raise questions on what it means to interact with those around us and the biases that we have without realizing it. Each car has a story and its up to listen to it, or make your own judgements based on what you see.
