Reflection of topmost picture


 This picture was taken at the Sneem River in Ireland. It was the sort of realization point in my trip abroad that I fully grasped that I was in fact no longer in America. It also was a very pivotal moment in my trip where I made an extremely difficult decision that even to today, I am affected by. And I wouldn't want it any other way.

    I love the way you took this photo. It really is a beautiful vista to capture. On top of that, it shows the scale as to how large the river is and how far away you are. It makes me feel small in a very large world, which I feel like encapsulates how you felt moving from the U.S. to America, putting into perspective how large the world is in contrast to you and your experiences.

  This film was a complete 180 from everything else that we have watched yet it addressed some very interesting topics and themes. It was weird that this was my first actual time seeing the movie and seeing the animation especially from this time was amazing. I think overall it still holds up well as Pixar's top films! Swiss Army Man

 Swiss Army Man was truly an experience to watch. The opening scene featuring our protagonist, Hank, attempting to end his life to which he spots Manny wash up on shore. In a moment of desperation that someone could help him he accidently knocks the bucket over and momentarily hangs himself before the rope luckily breaks. This film tackles things such as what is normal vs. acceptable in our society by having Manny question everything, similar to that of a toddler. We follow as they try to escape the wilderness and learn more about Hank's life before he ended up stranded. There we learn about the trauma he may have with his family and his regrets of never feeling confident enough to shoot his shot with the girl on the bus. A scene that I really thought was powerful was where Hank and Manny were crossing the metal pipes. This part specifically I felt Manny began to express Hank's internal thoughts and feelings.
