For being my first time watch through of this blockbuster classic I was unsure what to expect. This film takes place in a small resort town that gets a lot of revenue with the tourists wanting to go to the beach. However, there have been deadly shark attacks! Instead of shutting down the beach for public safety, those in charge tried their best to keep the information unknown to continue generating money. A scene that I really didn't understand was the ending, particularly the point of the cage scene. upon my first watch I assumed that Hooper was being sent to his death, especially when he dropped the only weapon to defend himself. But after looking into the background of the scene it began to make more sense. It is important to remember that this was filmed before CGI, so some of the choices made were due to these limitations.
